HARVESTED AT DACWORKS

OF AITKIN, MINNESOTA

We are so glad to see

your interest in our

NEXT-LEVEL

worm castings!

If you’re here, you likely already know that great gardens aren't grown- they’re built from the ground up. Whether you’re nurturing a single sprouting Pothos in your living room or managing a multi-acre farm, we are thrilled to introduce you to nature’s most potent soil healer: Premium Worm Castings.

What Exactly Are Worm Castings?

Think of them as "Black Gold." Worm castings are the organic material (magical poop!) processed by earthworms, transformed into a nutrient-dense, biologically active soil amendment. Unlike synthetic fertilizers that offer a quick (and often depleting) chemical spike, castings provide a sustained, life-giving boost to your soil’s ecosystem.

Here at DACWORKS, we harvest the castings of a mix of Red Wigglers, European Red Wigglers, and African Nightcrawlers.

Why Your Plants Will Thank You

The benefits of worm castings aren't just anecdotal; they are rooted in soil science.

Here is why they are a game-changer for any grower:

  • Unmatched Nutrient Availability: Castings are packed with minerals and trace elements in a "plant-ready" form, meaning your roots can absorb them immediately without the risk of "burning." They are full of plant-available nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron) and a high concentration of beneficial microbes, bacteria, and fungi that boost soil health.

  • Natural Pest & Disease Resistance: Rich in beneficial microbes and chitinase-producing bacteria, our castings help your plants naturally fend off pests like aphids and spider mites.

  • Enhanced Water Retention: Their unique structure helps soil hold onto moisture more effectively, reducing the need for constant watering.

  • Vibrant Growth & Yields: From deeper green foliage on houseplants to significantly higher yields in vegetable patches and fields, the results speak for themselves.

Sized for Every Need

We believe everyone should have access to high-quality soil health, regardless of the size of their project.

That’s why we will be harvesting and packaging our castings in a variety of sizes.

Finding the right amount of "Black Gold" shouldn't be a guessing game. Since our castings are a concentrated soil amendment, a little bit goes a long way!

Here is a quick guide to help you choose the right size based on your current "green" goals.

🟢 1-Gallon Bag: The Houseplant Hero

Perfect for the indoor jungle enthusiast.

  • Best for: A collection of 5 -10 small to medium indoor pots.

  • The Math: 1 gallon is roughly enough to top-dress (apply to the surface) about 15 - 20 standard 6-inch pots.

  • Use case: Refreshing your Monsteras, Pothos, or succulents, or starting a small herb tray on your windowsill.

🔵 3-Gallon Bag: The Garden Grower

Designed for the backyard hobbyist and patio gardener.

  • Best for: Raised beds, large outdoor planters, or a small vegetable patch.

  • The Math: This size covers approximately 30 - 40 square feet of garden space when used as a light top-dress, or provides enough "oomph" to mix into 3 - 4 large (10-gallon) patio containers.

  • Use case: Prepping your tomato plants for the season or boosting your perennial flower beds.

🔴 5-Gallon Bag: The Landscape Legend

The heavy-hitter for serious projects and hungry soil.

  • Best for: Large-scale garden prep, fruit trees, or rejuvenating tired lawns.

  • The Math: One 5-gallon bag can treat up to 60 - 70 square feet of garden space. It’s also the perfect amount for planting 2 - 3 young trees or several large shrubs.

  • Use case: Amending an entire new raised bed or brewing large batches of "Worm Casting Tea" to liquid-fertilize your whole yard.

Pro-Tip: The "Rule of Thumb"

If you are mixing it into new soil, we recommend a 1:10 ratio (one part castings to ten parts soil). If you are simply "top-dressing" (sprinkling it on top of existing plants), just a half-inch layer twice a year is enough to see incredible results!

How the Worm Sorting Machine Works

This sorting machine is designed to efficiently separate live worms from finished castings

and nutrient-rich vermicompost soil using gentle, mechanical screening.

  1. Material Feed

    • The mixture of worms, castings, and soil is placed into the machine at the top feed area.

    • The material moves steadily forward, ensuring a consistent flow without harming the worms.

  2. Rotating / Vibrating Screen Action

    • As the machine operates, the material passes over a rotating or vibrating screen with carefully sized openings.

    • Fine particles -the finished worm castings and nutrient-rich soil -fall through the screen openings below.

  3. Worm Separation

    • Larger items, including the worms and any remaining organic material, are unable to pass through the screen.

    • These stay on top of the screen and continue moving forward to a separate collection area.

  4. Gentle, Worm-Safe Process

    • The motion is designed to be slow and non-invasive, protecting the worms from stress or injury.

    • This allows the worms to be safely returned to active bins for continued composting.

  5. Final Output

    • The result is:

      • Clean, high-quality worm castings and soil collected below, ready for use or packaging.

      • Healthy, live worms separated and ready to be reused in the vermiculture system.
